The Growing Chapter

We are Growing! Growing babies, growing toddlers, growing gardens, growing our home!

Last weekend we spent all day Saturday getting gardening supplies and putting together a little patch of earth for our veggie garden. It was pretty fun. We got a bunch of seeds and they are currently in pots waiting to sprout before we transplant them into our patch :) We will try (fingers crossed it works, this is kind of new for both of us) to grow Peppers (capsicum for the Aussies), Cucumbers, Cherry Tomatoes, Lettuce, Dill, Chives, Parsley, Coriander, Yellow Beans, Snap Peas, and we have a little Aloe plant as well :) OK here's stage 1:

Loading up at Bunnings (like a Home Depot)

And our growing home. We got our packages from Canada this week! So awesome, already cracked the boxes open, and all of Travis' newborn stuff is in there and my old things and ya stuff, its like Christmas. And our snowboards and skateboards too, cant wait for that again. Not much is unpacked yet, but here's the new dining room table we got, I love it. And the place mats, I love them, ha ha.
And of course, daffodils from daffodil day, and my vanilla scented candle :)

And a growing baby!

 25 weeks

26.5 weeks

And let's end with some videos shall we ?

We were super stoked when Travis picked up the screwdriver and knew how to use it. How's that hand and eye coordination! We are super proud parents, lol

This kid's got mad driving skills

OOOooooohhhh!

Till next time, Cheers!

The second August Addition

Shit sewing is hard! These pants took me forever to make. OK the first pair (the white with black snowboarders), took about a month, because the needle on the machine broke and it took me forever to go get a new one, plus we moved in between, and well Travis. The next pair took me about 10 minutes! I think my next project will be a pencil case. I had dreams of sewing our next baby's bedroom set - ya right. Maybe if the next baby was due in 5 years and I started now and I had help. Mom you made this stuff look way too easy, I have been falsely led to believe sewing is easy and fast and you can make anything....not true....Here's my pants anyways:

Not bad eh? I'm pretty proud of them!

And some cute Travis photos! Because why not?
My tarzan boy, forever not in clothes.

driving around at the play cafe

Saturday mornings are hard...(don't worry child activists, they were empty)

Riding the escalator, like a big boy, who's balloon is the size of him

Showing me the dandelion he just destroyed (it was the white fluffy kind)

And some videos:

Ha Ha, typing on daddy's computer

On the swing!

Ok more coming soon. He's learning his body parts, so once we get a good video of that, it'll be up! So far he knows head, ears, eyes, feet and hands :)

August so far!

Well we still have no internet, boooooo! We will have it one day, just need to sort out our phone jack first. Since this is a new place and there's never been a phone installed here before (which we did not know), there is a 300$ connection fee plus the 50$ internet hook up fee. Lame. So we believe since this is a rental the landlord should pay to have the phone line installed, since it was assumed that a phone line already existed here. You see phone jack and cord coming out of it, you assume phone will hook up....i guess not. So well see how that goes, we don't really want to pay an extra 300$ for something that is going to benefit other renters for years to come, but come out of our little pockets. The option of wireless stick is always available and then we don't have to hassle with a phone line, but its so much faster here when you go thru the phone line.
Anyways enough of that boring stuff.
So I've started on reusable cloth diapers, or mcn's as they are called over here (modern cloth nappies), the word nappie is actually growing on me, although I still think it sounds wrong and weird. Mcn's are great! I cannot rave enough about them! Can't believe it took me this long to get started on them. They are so easy, and not as gross as everyone thinks. Now I realize if you are from an older generation, (ahem) you are thinking 'well that's all we had when you kids were babies', well it's not all we've had. We (the generation of which I belong) have been spoiled and lied to. Spoiled by an endless supply of fun printed, easy to use, easy to throw away assortment of diapers. We've been lied to about how hard cloth diapers are supposed to be. And well we've been ripped off.
Now these are not for everyone! I am a stay at home rocking momma, so I have time to test out these things. So I'm not preaching them to everyone, I'm just saying they are working for me, and I'm super glad we have made the switch! I'm surprised how much I love them.
I use the pocket style, one size fits most kind of one. Its double layered, absorbency inside and waterproof shell on the outside, in between is a "pocket" where you slip your liners in. and of course for extra protection you can fit in more liners or just put them directly between the nappy and the baby bum :) So if its just wet, too easy, in the dry bucket (with the tight fitting lid) it goes, and if its pooey, well either drop it in the toilet, or plunk it in the diaper genie, (in the toilet is the enviro way to go), then into the dry pail it goes. I wash them every 2 days right now, because I only have a few. I'm gonna order a few more every few weeks to cut back on washing days. But I haven't run out of them yet, and if I do, I have a few disposables on hand for such occasion.
Anyways enough about dirty diapers, here's a picture of them. I love them and I'm a huge mother nerd, I realize this.
just arrived, ready to wash!

really knows how to work an entrance

mcn love

the set up :)

The belly continues to grow!

And our due date has officially been changed! New due date is now November 30, yup a day after Wayne's 31st birthday :) Had a check up last week with my OB, everything is going well, our little brother is very healthy and very strong. Hell's ya he's strong, I can feel him moving so well. Its shocking how well I can feel him. His little kicks aren't so little anymore. Oh and for anyone who wasn't doing the math, that buts us at 24 weeks tomorrow (Wednesday), we jumped 6 days!  So I have another good sized strong healthy boy :) It's at that point now where its getting super exciting in the nervous way. Its all of a sudden not so far away, I mean I'm in my 6th month, holy smokes there's less than 3 months to go!!!!! YAY!

Switching pace a bit, here's some Travis and Daddy quality time photos. They are so cute together. They have become too best friends, inseparable in the afternoons. Travis now waits at the garage door waiting for his afternoon play walk/date with his daddy. And he's becoming quite the little footy tackler too!
